Tangent Works Selected to Become Part of Microsoft Accelerator

April 12th 2018

London – April 2018 – Tangent Works, today has announced it has been selected to become part of the ScaleUp program, previously known as the Microsoft Accelerator. The company who is revolutionising forecasting in the energy industry will work closely with Microsoft leaders, industry experts and will leverage the Microsoft Partner Network to scale the business model.

Microsoft is always on the lookout for new disruptive technologies to complement and boost its Azure cloud offering. Tangent Works developed a unique and scalable product -TIM – that allows for automatic large scale energy forecasting. TIM or Tangent Information Modeler is a gamechanger in predictive modeling.

The product has gained a lot of traction and goes beyond the current Machine Learning hype. It delivers true value to its customers.

Following the success of taking gold in a global forecasting competition, GEFcom 2017, beating the best minds and machines in the sector, the energy sector’s largest names are lining up to benefit too. This is where the expertise of Microsoft steps in. As one of only 11 companies chosen for the latest program cohort in London, Tangent Works will work closely with Microsoft. Our goal is to leverage the technology and business network of Microsoft to scale in the industry says Henk De Metsenaere, CEO of Tangent Works.

We are happy that after years of focused R&D to develop this game changing technology, followed by the first clients acquisitions, Microsoft recognises us as a “ready to scale” player in the EU market. We look forward to collaborating with Microsoft on both technology scalability and go to market through their scale up program.”
